Artist Name Change

Starting with the release of my new song “Frogs” on June 22, I will be changing my artist name from

“Natsumi Yuzu” to

“Shamisen Singer YUZU”.

Moving forward, I will gradually use this new name for all music releases and event appearances.

Why the Name Change?

To share the sound of Japan with more people

Many listeners search for “Yuzu Shamisen,” on the Internet, but the old name didn’t always appear in search results.

To improve discoverability

In the past, simply using “Yuzu” made it difficult to stand out due to other well-known artists and food brands. That’s why I chose the unique name “Natsumi Yuzu.”

But after years of continued activity, I’m now finally showing up in search results as “Yuzu.”

“Natsumi Yuzu” was originally just a pen name

“Natsumi” was a made-up name, unrelated to my real name or background. Even now, I sometimes don’t respond when people call me that.

So I’ve decided it’s time to adopt a name that truly reflects who I am.

What’s Next?

• All new music and upcoming appearances will be under the name “Shamisen Singer YUZU.”

• For events already announced under “Natsumi Yuzu” or ongoing regular performances, I will continue using the old name for now.
